Endorsement

(en - dorse - ment) n. approval or sanction

Baptist Ink takes great pride in the heritage which it preserves, handing from one generation to the next the works and doctrines of those gone before. It must be stated, however, that (as Baptists) each individual author reads and ascertains for him/herself the meaning of the Scriptures, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thus, the positions authors hold vary widely across assorted spectrums. Baptist Ink does not intend to alter or otherwise correct any author’s position. Yet, we do not desire to lead astray those who are young in the faith and are not well versed in the assorted viewpoints.

Thus, we have comprised a scale whereby we may communicate an author/work’s position. It is intended to guide you as you shop with us.

Author Endorsement Scale

5 of 5 - The author is/was a professing Baptist and the author aligns with all of the key doctrinal positions of Baptists. In addition, the author’s position on practice/daily living is in alignment.

4 of 5 - The author is/was a professing Baptist and the author aligns with all of the key doctrinal positions of Baptists. Some of the author’s positions, however, on practice/daily living may be questionable.

3 of 5 - The author is/was a professing Baptist. A few of the author’s doctrinal positions are questionable and may not align doctrinally. The author may or may not align in practice/daily living.

2 of 5 - The author is not/was not a professing Baptist or the author’s position is unknown.  The author, however, does align with most of the key doctrinal positions. Some questionable material may exist in doctrine and/or practice.

1 of 5 - The author does provide some material that is considered to be beneficial to the reader (typically on practice/daily living). There may be several key doctrinal positions, however, which are errant. This author should only be read by those grounded in their doctrine.

It is each Christian’s responsibility to search the Scriptures, studying “to shew thyself approved unto God…”. Every man will err in some fashion in their interpretation of the Scriptures. Thus, follow not a man, but rather the living Word of God.
